Who can submit videos to SkillTip?
Anyone can submit a video to SkillTip. To show your video on our site, you must own or hold the
rights to the video and have all the rights and clearances (music, etc.). You must not have granted
exclusive Internet rights to any other company. If you are under 18, you will need to print the contract,
have a parent or guardian sign it, and send that signed copy to us with your video. |
How does a video get accepted by your Programming Committee?
Video cannot be longer than 5 minutes long.
Video must be in digital format.
Video must show you how to do something.
Video should tell the story of how you or your company got to be good at what you are showing people. |
Will this submission cost me anything?
No, submission to SkillTip is free unless you are doing any advertising or product placement,
although submission does not guarantee that we will exhibit your film. Just send us your work for
consideration. |
How long does it take to get my video up?
Your video will be launched within 3 – 4 days after we receive it. We'll send you an email with the premiere date of your video so you can generate publicity around it. Preferred Members will have their submissions automatically posted on the website |
What media player is required for my video to be seen on SkillTip?
Your video will be available in Flash 7 or higher. Flash is on 98% of all personal computers, including Macs. |
How does SkillTip decide what to show?
All eligible submissions will be considered by our Programming Committee. We do not, however, accept
videos that promote pornography, hatred or bigotry. Videos more than 5 minutes long will not be accepted.
Videos submitted should reflect the characteristics of SkillTip. |
How does SkillTip differ from other online video sites?
SkillTip's unique content-selection process mirrors the democratic nature of the Web. While the SkillTip's
programming team highlights particular works, the audience also rates SkillTip on a five star system. |

If I submit more than one video, how do I get my videos to link together?
Just be sure to register all your videos through the same User ID and password. Your videos will all be
linked together through your User Profile page. Everyone who visits it will be able to read a brief
description of each video you currently have on our site. |
How does my video get featured?
All videos submitted are considered for featured videos. Videos are chosen based on relevance to
the featured videos subject matter and quality. Selections are made by SkillTip Programming Committee |
Where will my video show up when it premieres?
Each video will be placed based on the categories and details selected when uploading. |
Can someone, who is interested in my work or business, contact me directly from the site?
Yes! Each User Profile page has a link that allows people to send you an email without having to go
through us. The email address that you entered during your registration is the address that will allow
people to contact you. (If you get hired or asked to collaborate on a project, let us know. We'd love to
add you to our "Success Stories" page!) |
How can I get more people to watch my videos on SkillTip?
You can:
Email friends--and ask them to email their friends.
Log on to message boards on video-related or category-related Websites,
and tell people about your video (i.e. automotive, travel or sports).
Participate in Blogs that are related to your videos. |
What Operating Systems and Browsers does skilltip support for video publishing?
Currently, skilltip video publishing is only available for computers running Windows 2000 or Windows XP and Mac OS X 10.4, though we're working on adding to that list.
